A little over a week ago, I had given an update (Sell Stocks in May and Go Away: Update)  on how things were going since I went into a more defensive position with my equity holdings.  In it, I offered the parting comments below:

“Anyway, if you’ve been thinking about this topic, but have not yet been able to make a firm decision, there is still time to act.  Whether or not you’ll be correct in your timing…that’s another thing entirely.”

The title of this post is only to make myself feel better.  After years of reisting ownership in one of the available game systems (Xbox, Play Station, etc) I could not resist the Wii.  I had been intrigued by what I had read about it, but the deal was sealed after I actually played it.  I choose to see it as fate that shortly after I tried it, one popped up at the electronics store and I immediately snatched it…with restrained glee.

This type of impulse purchase is a bit unusual for me, however, as suspected, the enjoyment is worth the price.  My kids absolutely love it (no surprise there), but so does Mom and Grandma, too.  I think that is the most satisfying part…everyone can play…and they do!

So, while this purchase puts a bit of a dent in ye old pocket book, I am sure it will reap returns in other ways…like my sore shoulder from all that Wii boxing and baseball!

Well, I must admit, the month did not go as I had expected (does it ever?).  More specifically, you may recall that I had gone to a much more defensive position with my holdings in anticipation of a correction (Sell Stocks in May and Go Away: Update).

Well, as everyone knows, that has not happened…quite the opposite in fact.  However, although I missed out on some larger gains as a result, I am not complaining too much as it was still another good month where we saw our net worth increase by $15,713.
