Stock Market Correction: Maybe Now? July 28, 2007

On May 1st, I made some significant changes in my portolio based upon the history of the old adage “sell in May and go away” and updated everyone near the end of May on the progress thus far (post here: Sell Stocks in May and Go Away: Update )…which was not so great.

In June, the market dropped a bit and I posted another update (Stock Market Correction: Now?).  Again, this was short-lived and the market proceeded to go on a very steady and purposeful march upward to new highs.  During this time, although I missed out on greater returns had I not changed my portfolio, I was still getting some positive results as I remained invested in equities (just less risky ones).

Net Worth – June 2007 July 1, 2007

It has been a strange month here.  You may have noticed a dearth of postings on my part during these last few weeks.  While there has not been any crisis or anything, I had taken some time on a vacation (no computer available) and apparently have also allowed the planned laziness to seep into my writings. 

Nontheless, it is time to review the past month’s performance and begin anew.  Admittedly, this month has not been especially kind as I am seeing a net decrease in our net worth of ($2,775).  While I did not expect returns similar to the last several, I was not anticipating an overall decrease!
